Timeline:

October:
  • Researched rocket designs
  • Brainstormed designs (fins and nose cone primarily)
  • Calculated side lengths of fins
  • Gathered materials that were readily available

November 1st:
  • Visited Mr. Buchan in the woods lab and asked if we could use wood and machines in the lab.

November 2nd - 5th:
  • Worked in woods lab building project
  • Cut fins out and sanded them down so they were even
  • Sanded nose cone down from a inch thick dowel
  • Cut length of nose cone off of the dowel

November 6th and 7th:
  • Made body tube from poster board using a 7/8 inch dowel as frame and epoxy glue
  • Made parachute

November 8th:
  • Piecing whole rocket together
  • Final touch ups
  • Painting

November 10th:
  • First and second launch
  • Recorded data of first launch (Time up, time down and angle of elevation)
